Police Make Push in 20-Year-Old Murder of Towson Student

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Twenty years after 23-year-old Joann "Jody" LeCornu was found dead in her car in a parking lot on York Road, Baltimore County police are making a push to try to solve the cold case.

On March 2, 1996, LeCornu, a Towson University student, was shot in the back while seated in her car in the Drumcastle Shopping Center, according to police.

Afterwards, she drove across York Road to another shopping center parking lot where she died.

Witnesses reported seeing a man reach into LeCornu's car, remove an unknown item, then drive south on York Road in a white BMW.

They describe the man as black, with a stocky build, and wearing a camouflage jacket.

Jody's twin sister Jenny says ever since the killing it has been tough for the family.

"It's been very difficult not having her here and not knowing who killed her and what happened," said Jenny.
