Cocaine Trafficker Sentenced To 8 Years

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A Queen Anne's County man convicted of selling cocaine has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison.

Thirty-nine-year-old Baraka Chauka of Barclay, who was convicted of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Baltimore.

According to evidence presented at trial, Chauka bought powder cocaine from a supplier in the Philadelphia area. Prosecutors say he provided the powder to a co-defendant, who cooked the powder into cocaine base.
