Coast Guard Rescues Stranded Boater In Patapsco River

BALTIMORE (AP) -- The U.S. Coast Guard has assisted a boater in the Patapsco River near Baltimore after his 29-foot-sailboat ran aground.

The Coast Guard says the boater reported he had run aground Saturday about 1 p.m. due to dense fog in the area. A crew from Coast Guard Station Curtis Bay was dispatched to the scene and transferred the man into their boat.

The sailboat was left aground in the Patapsco River and is awaiting salvage.

No one was injured in the incident.
