Coast Guard Rescues Man Injured Off Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) — The Coast Guard has rescued a man who was injured in a personal watercraft accident near Ocean City.

The Coast Guard said in a news release that a crew from Coast Guard Station Ocean City was on patrol Saturday when friends of the injured man flagged the crew for assistance. The man had a leg injury and was showing signs of hypothermia.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Andrew Sumski says he sent two crewmen to assist the victim and bring him back to the boat.

The crew took the man back to the Coast Guard station, where EMS were waiting for him. The man was then transported to a Berlin hospital.
