Coach Of The Week - Jack Meyers

Eastern Tech High School Head Softball Coach Jack Meyers joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn in this weeks segment of Coach of the Week brought to you by CountySportsZone.com. The Mavericks have been dominant on the field lately with a 5-0 record that stems from big wins over county foes Loch Raven, Perry Hall and more. Coach Meyers discussed the success the program has seen. "We have a great coaching staff, from JV to Varsity and the kids have such a commitment to the sport, they play 10 tournaments in the summer time, and train in the wintertime, and by the time they get to me, I look smart"

Former Eastern Tech Pitcher Jordan Cargile has found success in Softball making the University of Delaware's Softball team. Jack discussed how handled such a special player. "Our former star went to the University of Delaware, Jordan Cargile, we knew she'd be dominant her senior year, so the coaches and I decided to focus on hitting and defense to take the pressure off of her, which worked very well."

Jack has found success with the Mavericks winning multiple State Championships. He talked about his current team and the leadership to take them back to states. "There are five seniors that have started with me sense their freshmen year, and they're pretty special. They're 62-1."?
