1 Killed In Clarksville Crash; Officials Investigating

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Police are investigating after a fatal two-car crash in Clarksville Monday afternoon.

The collision happened just before 12:30 p.m. on Ten Oaks Road, near Heather Glen Way. Howard County Police say a 2017 Nissan Sentra was heading westbound on Ten Oaks Road when it crossed over and hit a 2013 Ford Expedition traveling eastbound.

The passenger in the Sentra, 23-year-old Deadra Wellington-Brown of Columbia, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 24-year-old Patrick Ingram Holmes of Columbia, was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver and passenger in the Expedition were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Chopper 13 was above the scene, and one vehicle was left on its roof following the crash.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

A portion of Ten Oaks Road was closed for about five hours.
