City Police Investigate Homicide & Non-Fatal Shooting

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore City Police are investigating a homicide and a non-fatal shooting from Friday night.

Around 9:55 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Jeffrey Street for a person lying in the middle of the street. While in route, police were told the person had been shot.

Officers located an unresponsive 26-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to Shock Trauma, where he was pronounced dead.

The second incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. in the 4600 block of Liberty Heights, where police responded to a 22-year-old male who was shot at.

The victim injured his elbow when he fell while running. He was transported to an area hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

According to the victim, he was standing in front of the chicken carryout in the 4600 block of Liberty Heights when someone started shooting at him.
