City Of Baltimore Holding Hazardous Waste Drop-off

BALTIMORE (AP) -- The city of Baltimore is encouraging residents to drop off household hazardous waste including batteries and fluorescent light bulbs at its facility on Sisson Street.

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works says it will hold a hazardous waste collection event on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at its building at 2840 Sisson Street. Residents can bring household hazardous waste including oil paint, paint thinners, pool cleaners and fire extinguishers.

The city says it won't accept leaking or unmarked containers.

The facility will hold its next collection on Oct. 3 and 4.
