Church Youth Leader Pleads Guilty To Distributing Child Porn

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A man who prosecutors say was a volunteer youth group leader at a Baltimore County church has pleaded guilty to distribution of child pornography.

Sixty-three-year-old Gregory Wayne Gibson of Cockeysville entered the plea Tuesday in federal court in Baltimore.

Prosecutors say in July 2014, a detective with Baltimore County Police downloaded a file containing child pornography that Gibson had made available through a file sharing program.

Authorities say in April of this year, police raided Gibson's home and found digital media that contained 260,000 images and videos of child pornography.

Prosecutors say besides working with children ages nine through 18 as a youth group leader, Gibson helped his wife at her unlicensed home daycare.

Gibson faces a minimum mandatory of five years in prison at sentencing on Oct. 26.
