Church Pastor Charged In Prostitution Sting

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- A Presbyterian pastor from York, Pennsylvania, has been charged in a prostitution sting in Frederick County, Maryland.

The Frederick News-Post reports the Rev. Suler Acosta of City Church York was charged with three offenses, including knowingly soliciting prostitution, in an investigation the Frederick County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday.

The 42-year-old Acosta declined to comment when reached by the newspaper Thursday. A call to the church Friday by The Associated Press wasn't immediately returned.

The church website lists Acosta as organizing pastor and a married father of two.

The sheriff's office says Acosta is among seven men who responded to an online advertisement by going to meet a female deputy posing as a prostitute. The sheriff's office says investigators established probable cause to believe they were there to solicit sex.
