Chris Davis Lifts Orioles Past Indians

Baltimore (WJZ) -- Chris Davis broke a tie with a double in the top of the seventh,  Mark Trumbo followed with a 2-run homer and the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Cleveland Indians 6-4 on Friday night.

The Orioles got things going early as SS Manny Machado drove in a run off of a single in the top of the first inning. He would end the night going 4 for 5 for the game.  2B Jonathan Schoop would single in the same inning to bring in two more runs and give the Orioles a 3-0 lead early in the game.

Cleveland would slowly cut away at the lead starting in the 2nd inning when 3B Juan Uribe doubled off of SP Mike Wright to send in a run. Later in the 4th inning, 1B Mike Napoli would homer to bring the Indians within one before SS Francisco Lindor sent a sacrifice fly to right in order to bring in a run and tie the game.

Mike Wright would finish the day with 4 2/3 innings pitched along with 3 earned runs and 4 strike outs.

The game would remain tied until the top of the 7th inning when a Chris Davis double to deep right center would break the tie with a run scored. Moments later, Mark Trumbo's home run would seal the win for the Baltimore Orioles.

A solo home run by Francisco Lindor would add a run for the Indians in a losing effort.

The Baltimore Orioles will face the Cleveland Indians again on Saturday at 4:10pm ET as Ubaldo Jimenez (6.04 ERA) duels against Danny Salazar (2.32 ERA)
