Chris Brown Pleads Guilty To Assault In DC Courtroom

WASHINGTON (WJZ) -- Singer Chris Brown pleads guilty to misdemeanor assault.

Linh Bui has more on what's next for the R&B star.

Brown pleaded guilty to simple assault Tuesday morning in a Washington DC courtroom.

The case was tied to a confrontation outside the W hotel in Washington last October.

Prosecutors say Brown and his bodyguard punched a man who was trying to take a selfie with Brown and two women.

The judge fined him $150 and released him on time served. He had been in jail for two days already in the case.

After accepting the plea deal, Brown told the judge, "I'm sorry. I am very sorry."

Brown had been on probation for a 2009 attack on the singer Rihanna, his girlfriend at the time.
