Cecil County Sheriff's Office Warns Of Scam Involving Spoofing Their Officers

ELKTON, Md. (WJZ)-- The Cecil County Sheriff's office is warning people about a scam in their area.

The criminals are posing as deputies with their office, asking for donations.

The scammers were using 1-888-375-7116 as their phone number in this scheme.

They want to remind people that deputies will not call you on the phone asking for donations.

If you have received one of the calls and made a donation you are urged to call 911 to file a report.
