CD In Pawned Laptop Leads To Charges In Md.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Maryland authorities say a Hagerstown man was arrested after child pornography was found on a CD left in a laptop he pawned.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports 58-year-old David James Montgomery was arrested Thursday and faces four child pornography charges that carry a total maximum sentence of 35 years in prison.

The paper says that an employee at the Washington Street Pawnbrokers in Hagerstown called authorities after finding the CD in a laptop Montgomery pawned. Court documents say authorities found 14 homemade videos involving a preteen girl.

The paper says Montgomery admitted to investigators he made the videos but never had physical contact with the girl, and he said he did not share the videos with anyone.

Montgomery did not appear to have a listed telephone number.
