Cato June On The Terps Hiring DJ Durkin As Their New Football Head Coach

Cato June is a former NFL football player who played his college ball at Michigan.

Cato joined Ed and Steve to talk about the Terps new football coach Michigan defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin.

Steve asked Cato what impact a coaching change has on incoming recruits. Cato noted his experience with being recruited while a head coach took another job and how difficult it then becomes to commit to the same team, "I was in that situation when I was being recruited. I was going to play at North Carolina but Mack Brown, who was their head coach, left to become the head coach at the University of Texas. It's a tough decision for a young kid to make."

Ed asked Cato about what the arrival of D.J. Durkin as head coach of Maryland means for Mike Locksley. Cato acknowledged the importance of Locksley to the program, "he's plays a big part in keeping a lot of the local guys local. He's a great recruiter, has an eye for talent and is a great coach. Hopefully we can keep him around at Maryland."

Cato went on to discuss the performance of Peyton Manning this season, whether Andrew Luck has taken a step back in his development, and which quarterback he would rather play with, Peyton Manning or Tom Brady.
