Dozens Of Cars And Businesses Vandalized In Columbia, Laurel

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) -- Howard County Police are seeking information about the person responsible for vandalizing numerous cars and businesses in Columbia and Laurel in the early morning of June 8.

Video surveillance footage from local businesses reveals the suspect spray-painting four cars and two buildings in the 9100 block of Guilford Road in Columbia around 2:00 a.m. During the same time period, 28 additional cars were spray-painted at a senior living center in the 9800 block of Palace Hall Drive in Laurel.

Police believe the suspect is likely responsible for both incidents.

More than 260 vehicles have been damaged in similar cases since December, according to Police Chief Gary Gardner.

The recent damage includes the words, "Jack Boys," and other random markings. Police do not believe the vandalism to be hate-bias or gang-related.

Anyone with information is urged to call 410-313-STOP. Police are offering a reward of up to $1,500 for information. Callers may remain anonymous.
