Carroll County Sheriff's Office Investigate Deputy-Involved Accident

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- Two people, including a Carroll County Sheriff's deputy, have been seriously injured after a vehicle collision on Md. 26 near Franklinville Road.

According to a news release from the Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred early Wednesday morning. Cpl. Brant Webb and the driver of the other vehicle, 21-year-old Anna Nicole Donohoe, were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma.

Sheriff Jim DeWees says Donohoe remains in critical condition, while Webb is awake and talking. Webb sustained multiple injuries requiring surgery, including several broken bones.

Crash investigators with the Sheriff's Office are currently looking into the crash. Deputies say speed may have been a factor.

DeWees says Webb is aware of the crash and is helping investigators.
