Car With 8-Year-Old Inside Stolen Tuesday Afternoon; Child Found Safe, Baltimore Police Say

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore Police are investigating after a car with a child inside was stolen on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said officers were called just before 4 p.m. to the 400 block of Russell Street for a report of a stolen vehicle.

Responding officers learned an 8-year-old child was inside the vehicle. The child was later found safe in the 200 block of Chase Street.

About 10 minutes before this stolen car incident, police also responded for a report of a carjacking in the 100 block of North Rose Street in east Baltimore.

Just last week, police announced the arrests of 14 people in connection to a series of recent carjackings and stolen cars in the city.

No further information has been provided at this time.
