Investigation Underway After SUV Crashes Into Walgreens In North Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Police are investigating after an SUV crashed through a Walgreens in north Baltimore Friday afternoon.

The accident happened around 4 p.m. in the Greenspring Tower Square along 41st Street in Hampden.

Police believe that the driver accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake, leaving a mess of debris everywhere.

A little girl and her aunt were sitting in a nail salon next door when the accident happened. They said that the crash rocked the building.

"So we're getting our nails done and all of a sudden, we hear a boom," she said.

Alcohol isn't believed to be a factor, but police took the driver home as a precaution.

"I thought it was like a car accident, but I didn't know what it was, and then I saw everybody coming up to the door and I was like what?! Oh no, it's an emergency!" a 5-year-old child.

Police say that the driver refused medical attention and that nobody was hurt.
