Capital Beltway Lanes Open Again After Fuel Spill

WASHINGTON (AP) -- All lanes of the Capital Beltway have reopened after a crash and fuel spill in Montgomery County.

All four lanes of the outer loop of the Capital Beltway were initially closed in Silver Spring after the crash Monday morning.

Authorities say that around 2 a.m. a Maryland state trooper and a car that was pulled over were hit by a truck. The truck then spilled a large amount of fuel on the roadway.

Police say no one was seriously injured. The officer and the driver the officer pulled over were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
