Calvert County Crash Leaves 2 Cyclists Dead

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Two cyclists are dead after a fatal car wreck in Calvert County.

Police say the wreck occurred just before 3 p.m. on Saturday in Chesapeake Beach.

Police say 64-year-old John Fauerby and 58-year-old Lynn Rosenbusch were riding a tandem bicycle on Tobacco Road when Catherine Lyon, who was driving a Jeep Cherokee, struck them from behind. Police say the cyclists were ejected from the bicycle and Rosenbusch was pronounced dead at the scene. Fauerby was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Police say Lyon was intoxicated at the time of the wreck and has been charged with driving under the influence and vehicular homicide.
