Buck Showalter Gives Updates On The Recovery Times For Matt Wieters And J.J. Hardy

Buck Showalter is the current manager of the defending AL East Champion Baltimore Orioles.

Buck joined Ed and Steve to talk about spring training and getting ready for the regular season to begin.

Buck started off by talking about how the rainy weather around the country is effecting the ability to scout young players and prepare for the draft. When asked about Matt Wieters and how his recovery is coming Buck said, "He's doing good he threw yesterday a little bit, keep in mind he's actually ahead of what normal Tommy John schedule is... It's not if it's when on Matt and we want him to be right when he comes back."

As for J.J. Hardy's injury and recovery Buck said "he feels good... luckily it's his left shoulder, we're going to try to make sure it's right on the first try (getting him back)."

On the subject of Manny Machado and what to expect from him this season Buck said "Manny is fine, he's a little bit frustrated about how he's swinging the bat lately... He's not playing cautious at all, he's in a good frame of mind and I expect a good season out of him."
