Man Dies In Westminster Blaze

WESTMINSTER, Md. (WJZ) ---A man has died after a blaze at a Westminster home Friday afternoon.

According to the Maryland State Fire Marshall's office, a retired Baltimore County firefighter and a Carroll County Sheriff's deputy were the first to arrive on the scene of a fire at a home in the 1200 block of Naugahyde Road around 12:46 p.m.

They pulled the victim from the home and began CPR until fire crews arrived a took over, but the man in his 70s was pronounced dead around 1:19 p.m.

The house was completely engulfed in flames and it took 40 firefighters to get the blaze under control.

Crews are still on the scene and the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
