Man Charged With Murder 6 Years After Girlfriend Disappeared

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A Windsor Mill man has been charged with the murder of a woman who went missing in 2010, and whose body was never recovered.

Police believe that Cherice Ragins's boyfriend, 30-year-old Travis Eugene Elleby, murdered her and disposed of her body.

The 24-year-old was reported missing by her mother on February 24, 2010. Police say she left her home on the 3600 block of North Rogers Avenue five days prior, on February 19, to go her Elleby's house in the 500 block of Cheshaire Drive and was never heard from again.

Last week, the case was presented to a Baltimore County Grandy Jury who indicted Elleby for first-degree murder. He is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

This incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-307-2020.
