Boy Dies After Being Assaulted By Mother's Boyfriend

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A 3-year-old boy has died days after being assaulted by his mother's boyfriend, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

Police responded to University Pediatrics after a 3-year-old boy was found unresponsive and unconscious.

The boy's mother initially told police that she and her son were walking on Janice Ave. when they were assaulted by unknown suspect.

Further investigation revealed that the mother and the boy were assaulted by her boyfriend, 22-year-old Charles Shelton.

On September 4, the boy died at the hospital, police said.

Shelton was arrested on murder charges.
