Boy, 16, Charged As Adult In Ocean City Motel Robbery

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- Police have charged a 16-year-old boy as an adult in connection with an armed robbery at an Ocean City motel.

Police say the robbery happened on June 10 inside a motel on 27th Street. Victims told police that a man, along with a group of others, drew a gun and demanded money from the victims. The victims resisted and the suspects fled to a nearby hotel.

Police say they tracked the suspects down and quickly detained five people.

The primary suspect who had been in possession of the handgun was identified as a teen from Hagerstown.

Police say they believe the incident was a drug related robbery.

The teen has been charged with armed robbery, among other charges, and is being held without bond at the Worcester County Jail.
