Boston University Knocks Off Loyola Maryland 72-58

BOSTON (AP) -- Maurice Watson Jr. scored 19 points to lead Boston University to a 72-58 victory over Loyola Maryland Monday night.

Watson had an almost perfect shooting night, hitting 7 of 9 field goal attempts and 4 of 5 free throws. D.J. Irving had 14 points and John Papale added 13 for Boston University (13-6, 6-0 Patriot League).

The Terriers, who have now won six straight games, shot 50.9 percent from the field. They scored 32 points in the paint, compared to Loyola's 22.

The Greyhounds led most of the first half until Boston closed on a 15-4 run to take a 32-27 halftime lead. The Terriers stretched that to a 50-38 lead midway of the second half as the defense stymied the Greyhounds, limiting them to just 11 points in the opening 11 minutes of the second half.

Dylon Cormier led Loyola (8-9, 3-3) with 14 points.
