Bomb Squad Investigates Suspicious Package At Abingdon Target

ABINGDON, Md. (WJZ) -- A scare outside a crowded retail store in Harford County.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Target in Abingdon.

Sheriff's deputies responded after two suspicious suitcases were left unattended in the parking lot. They found Arabic writing on a luggage tag.

The store was immediately evacuated and the bomb squad was called to the scene. Their investigation revealed only clothes in the suitcases.

The store reopened around 4 p.m.

Deputies are now trying to determine who owned the luggage.
