Body Found Under Drawbridge In Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Police say a body has been found in the water underneath the Weems Creek Bridge in Annapolis.

Maryland Natural Resources Police spokeswoman Candy Thomson says the body was recovered around noon Sunday after a passer-by reported spotting it in the water.

Thomson says the person was a male. The unidentified body is being taken to the Chief Medical Examiner's office in Baltimore for an autopsy.

The drawbridge was locked in the open position this weekend for maintenance and to allow boats to pass.
