Elderly man dies after being pulled out of Baltimore's harbor
An elderly man died after he was pulled out of Baltimore's Inner Harbor on Wednesday, according to fire officials.
Around 11:05 a.m., the 82-year-old man was found in the water near the 2700 block of Boston Street in the Canton neighborhood. He was pronounced dead despite rescue efforts, the fire department said.
Investigators believe there are no suspicious circumstances in the man's death. The Baltimore Police Department is investigating.
Neighbors react
People told WJZ they were surprised when they learned about the man's body being found in that neighborhood.
"It is not an everyday occurrence, even an every-year occurrence," said Brian, who lives in the community.
"I was just going for my walk on my regular work day, and hearing that is definitely surprising," said Yvonne Reid, who also lives nearby.
