Bob Haynie: LeBron Is Still A Hit Even With The Misses

Through the first three games of the 2015 NBA Finals, LeBron James is shooting only 40.2 percent from floor against the Golden State Warriors. The Cleveland superstar is averaging almost 36 shots per contest and missed at least 20 attempts in every game.

Is he missing a lot? He sure is. He also has his Cavaliers two wins away from winning their first ever NBA Championship. James has been impacting games with assists, rebounds and a gigantic will to win.

James has scored 123 points in the three games as the Cavaliers have taken a 2-1 series lead over the favored Warriors. The 123 over three is the most of any player in NBA Finals history.

He has hit clutch shots throughout the playoffs and has carried a team that is basically down to a bunch roll players to due to injuries. The Cavaliers have lost both PF Kevin Love and PG Kyrie Irving during the postseason and they haven't missed a beat.

The Warriors, who won a league-best 67 games during the regular season and feature NBA MVP Stephen Curry, are now in an uncomfortable situation heading into Thursday night's Game 4 in Cleveland. Golden State is a resilient bunch, but a loss in Game 4 could possibly doom them.

With James smelling blood, he may take his game to yet another level. If I'm Golden State head coach Steve Kerr, that scenario would concern me greatly.

I think James has already cemented his legacy as one of the most dominant players in the history of the NBA. If he and his Cavaliers can finish the deal and win the city of Cleveland's first World Championship since 1964, I would think that this would be his greatest accomplishment in a career filled with many.
