BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Following the beer-throwing incident, a Toronto Blue Jays fan reached out on social media to praise the Orioles' All-Star center fielder for using his platform to inspire social change.

The post went viral after Orioles executive vice president John Angelos shared the letter from Craig Fortier, an assistant professor at the University of Waterloo.

Beyond offering an apology on behalf of Blue Jays fans, Fortier praised Jones for speaking up about the racial and social injustices in the country and his commitment to helping struggling communities.
