'Black Lives Matter' Activist Files To Run In Baltimore Mayoral Race
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A civil rights activist and Black Lives Matter member jumps into the crowded contest for Baltimore mayor.
In a surprise move, DeRay Mckesson jumped into the primary race minutes before the deadline to file. That's according to our media partner, The Baltimore Sun.
Mckesson is a Baltimore native and former public school administrator.
He gained attention in the protest movement that began in Ferguson, Mo. and came to Baltimore last year.
