Beltsville Business Owner Shoots Alleged Burglar

BELTSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County Police say a Beltsville business owner shot a man who broke into his office.

It happened about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday at Lloyd's Automotive. Police say a man broke into the store, forced his way into an office and confronted the owner.

Officers say the owner shot the man, who ran from the business and drove away. Police say the man crashed his car and was taken to a local hospital. Authorities say the suspect is in critical condition.

The business owner called 911 immediately after the shooting.

Police say the suspect faces multiple charges, but has not been formally charged.
