Beaver Caught Holiday 'Shopping' At St. Mary's Dollar Store

CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. (WJZ) -- A corporal with the St. Mary's County Sheriff's office got a call from the local dollar store Monday, for a rowdy shopper. A beaver got into the store and got into the store's Christmas decorations.

Turns out, even a beaver likes a bargain during the holidays. But, when the browsing turned destructive animal control had to be called for back-up. The beaver was captured, and taken to a wildlife rehabilitator. But, not before the beaver was checked for shop-lifting.
