Bay Bridge Lanes To Close This Week For Repairs

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland Transportation Authority says the two spans of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge will be closed this week for maintenance.

The Capital reports the eastbound will close, weather permitting, from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday. During that time, two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span.

The westbound span is scheduled to be closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. On Thursday, it's scheduled to be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Friday. During the closure, two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span.

During the daytime hours, one lane of the eastbound span is scheduled to be closed Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. On Friday, the closure lasts from 9 a.m. to noon.
