Baltimore's Ryan Kaiser Named 'Teacher Of The Year'

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--He's the best in Maryland! Tonight, a Baltimore City teacher earns the title: Teacher of the Year!

Ryan Kaiser, a 6th and 8th grade Social Studies teacher at the Mount Washington School won the high honor.

The announcement was made during the 25th anniversary Teacher of the Year Gala at Martin's West, which WJZ's own Denise Koch hosted.

Kaiser will go on to compete for the esteemed National Teacher of the Year award, to be announced next April.

Since 2006, three Maryland teachers of the year have gone to be named National Teacher of the Year.
