Baltimore's Coast Guard Yard Doing Active Shooter Drill

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Coast Guard officials are planning an active shooter drill at the U.S. Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore.

The Coast Guard says in a statement that the drill will take place Wednesday at 11 a.m. and that the facility will be on lockdown for the exercise.

Coast Guard spokeswoman Dottie Mitchell says the drill is an annual event at the shipyard and is expected to last 15 to 30 minutes.

More than 2,000 people work on the Yard base.
