Baltimore To Activate 'Code Blue' Friday And Saturday

BALTIMORE (AP) -- The Baltimore Department of Health and Human Resources has declared a Code Blue emergency.

Code Blue will be in effect Friday and Saturday.

The city announced that because of predicted freezing temperatures, a resource center for homeless men and women will operate 24 hours a day, while Homeless Services outreach workers will conduct cold weather education workshops and encourage homeless individuals to shelter indoors.

Baltimore officials say there have already been two cold weather-related deaths this winter.

This is the third Code Blue alert for Baltimore this season.
