Baltimore Sun's Building For Sale

BALTIMORE (AP) -- The owner of The Baltimore Sun's office building and parking garage wants to sell the property.

Tribune Media Co., which spun off newspapers in 2014, has said it plans to sell newspaper properties, which include signature buildings in Los Angeles and Chicago.

Tribune sold the property that housed The Sun's printing press to Sagamore Development for $46.5 million in 2014.

The Baltimore Sun reports that the firm is working with real estate agency CBRE on the sale of the Calvert Street building, but there's no firm timeline for a sale.

The state values the 452,000-square-foot building at about $12.5 million for tax purposes. Part of the building is empty.

Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Trif Alatzas said in an email to staff that a sale wouldn't affect the paper's lease.
