Baltimore Police Warn Residents Of DPW Impostors

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore Police are warning residents about a scam involving people who claim to be Department of Public Works or "water department" employees.

According to police, these impostors will come and say they need to enter your home to check the water. DPW officials say that they will never ask to enter your home unless you have called them first (for example, due to flooding). DPW officials will have a uniform and official ID.

If this happens, please call 911 immediately.
