Baltimore Police: Toddler's Death Ruled Homicide

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Police in Baltimore say the death of a 2-year-old boy last month has been ruled a homicide.

Police announced Wednesday that detectives were notified a day earlier that the manner of death was found to be a homicide.

Police say officers were called to a home in the 3300 block of Mondawmin Avenue on May 7 for a report of a person not breathing. When they arrived, police say they found the fire department treating a 2-year-old boy, who was taken to an area hospital, where he died a short time later.

An autopsy was performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. On June, 2, homicide detectives were notified that the manner of death in this case is homicide.
