FBI Searches For Armed Robbery Suspects Known As 'Shotgun Four'

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The FBI is calling four men possibly connected to a robbery scheme in Baltimore the "shotgun four."

Ava-joye Burnett has more on what's making law enforcement so concerned.

The FBI says the suspects hold up their victims with a sawed-off shotgun. Their bold actions were caught on camera.

The FBI says they are bold and violent. They're dubbed the Shotgun Four because they usually show up with a shotgun.

In one surveillance video, one of the suspects walks into a store. Moments later, the others follow. One has a shotgun in hand. They eventually snatch all the cash from the register.

"They hit me with the shotgun in the head," said Mohamed Bah.

Bah, a store clerk, was one of the victims.

"Before I could say anything, he was back there with the shotgun to my face," Bah said.

The robbery spree started in March; the trail dotted all over the city.

"They are hitting in various parts of the city. They appear to be organized," said Steve Skinner, FBI.

Investigators believe the suspects robbed more than 10 businesses in the Baltimore area. In one case, they robbed two stores in just a few blocks of Greenmount.

The suspects may be using a Mercury or Ford sedan with Maryland tags as a getaway car.

Police say stopping the Shotgun Four may come with help from the very people they know.

"Somebody in the community knows who these individuals are. We just want them off the street until...unfortunately, something bad is going to happen if they continue to do what they are doing," Skinner said.

The FBI says the most recent robbery happened on Monday.

There is a $5,000 reward being offered for information leading to their arrests. If you know anything about these robberies, call the Baltimore FBI.
