Baltimore Police Officer Injures Head During Foot Chase

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- A Baltimore Police Department officer has been taken to Shock Trauma after hitting his head during a foot chase.

Police say the officer was attempting to stop a suspected narcotics dealer and was chasing several suspects near Lauretta Avenue and North Payson Street in North Baltimore Wednesday evening.

During the chase, officials say the officer fell and hit his head, rendering him unconscious. The officer was then taken to Shock Trauma, where he remains in serious but stable condition.

The suspects were later arrested.
