Baltimore police officer hospitalized after being struck by a car

BALTIMORE - Baltimore police are investigating an incident that occurred Saturday morning, after they say a crew member was hit by a vehicle.

The officer was struck at the intersection of Whitelock at McCulloh Street at approximately 9:43 A.M. and fled the scene following the incident. 

Medics transported the officer to Shock Trauma for precautionary measures.

Shortly before 4:00 p.m., police announced that they had arrested the 42-year-old woman responsible for the hit and run.

Investigators were able to track the suspect to the 2400 block of West Cold Spring Lane, where a traffic stop was initiated and the suspect was arrested.

The woman was then taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where she will be charged.
