Baltimore Police Investigate After Woman Was Raped & Shot

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore police are investigating after they say a woman was raped and shot near N. Carey Street.

According to police, she was walking north on North Carey Street when she passed by a man walking in the opposite direction. He doubled back and then placed a hard object in her side and forced into an alley and then to the rear of an empty house.

Police say the suspect raped and then shot the woman.

She described him as a black man with light complexion. He was wearing a mask.

The victim is in serious condition at a local hospital.
