Baltimore Police ID Officer Involved In Shooting Over The Weekend

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore police have identified the officer forced to shoot a man multiple times over the weekend.

Police say Officer Jose Guerrero was filing paperwork in his car Sunday when he was approached by an armed 21-year-old suspect. It happened around 9 a.m. near Reisterstown Road and Park Heights Avenue.

Fearing for his life, police say Guerrero fired through his window. The suspect was shot at least three times. He is currently listed in critical condition.

The incident marked the third police-involved shooting in Baltimore in just two days.

Officer Guerrero remains on routine administrative leave. He is a four-year member of the department, assigned to the Northwest District.
