Baltimore Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore Police have now made an arrest following an armed robbery last week.

On August 31, officers responded to the intersection of E. Federal Street and Gay Street for an armed robbery.

The victim said he was walking in the 1700 block of N Gay Street when he was chased and robbed by an unknown male who was armed with a gun and gave his description to police.

A short time later, officers located the suspect at the intersection of E. North Avenue and Gay Street. After a brief foot chase, the suspected was brought into police custody.

Officers recovered a loaded .38 caliber revolver handgun and arrested 36-year-old Tyrone Savage of the 3200 block of Belair Road.

The firearm was submitted at the Evidence Control Section and Savage was transported to Central Booking.

Savage has been charged with armed robbery and handgun violations. He remains at Central Booking with a $350,000 bail.
