Baltimore McDonald's To Offer Old Bay Filet-O-Fish

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- McDonald's has officially teamed up with Maryland-based McCormick & Co. to introduce a limited edition sandwich. The classic Filet-O-Fish will take on a favorite Mid-Atlantic flavor twist -- as the OLD BAY Filet-O-fish!

Starting Monday, Feb. 16, over 700 participating McDonald's restaurants in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware,  DC and the West Virginia will be serving their classic Filet-O-Fish with the option of adding a specially formulated OLD BAY tartar sauce.

Maryland native and local McDonald's franchisee, Mark Furr, in Baltimore came up with the idea to infuse the local seasoning favorite after taste-testing new menu items. After voicing his initial idea, local McDonald's representatives reached out to the Hunt Valley-based McCormick & Co. to begin developing an OLD BAY inspired menu item.

The two companies worked together to ensure that the offering had the perfect amount of OLD BAY, resulting in a tartar sauce that delivers a taste any OLD BAY fan will love.

"OLD BAY is proud to collaborate with McDonald's to offer a unique way to enjoy the distinctive flavor of OLD BAY right in the Chesapeake Bay region," said Ed Hernandez, OLD BAY Brand Manager. "The zesty taste of OLD BAY is the ultimate seafood seasoning, so teaming up with this classic fish favorite is the perfect pairing."

Baltimore area McDonald's will be offering two Filet-O-Fish sandwiches for $4 for a limited time to celebrate the collaboration.
