Baltimore Mayor Heading To Paris For Climate Conference

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake is headed to Paris next week for the United Nations' climate change conference.

According to an agenda for the city's Board of Estimates meeting on Wednesday, Rawlings-Blake, who is the president of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, will lead the organization's delegation. The planned trip to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change was first reported by Baltimore Brew.

Rawlings-Blake will be in Paris from Dec. 4 to 6 and will also participate in the Climate Summit for Local Leaders and a Day of Action. She will be accompanied by Deputy Mayor of Government Relations Andrew Smullian.

The agenda states that the trip won't cost the city anything, but the panel's approval is required since their absence will involve weekend days.
